A prequel to Mount & Blade: Warband-Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord- is set to be available in early access by March 2020. If you’re looking for games like Mount & Blade to hold you over until the release of Bannerlord, or if Bannerlord was released and you somehow have played too much of it (impossible), be sure to check out the following 10 games you are sure to enjoy! 1. The first game in the series was released in 2008, sparking an expansion ( Mount & Blade: Warband-released in 2010) and a stand-alone spin-off expansion based on With Fire and Sword, a book written by Henryk Sienkiewicz ( Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword-released in 2011). With open-world environments and weapon-based combat, Mount & Blade gives players the ability to face off against armies with historical accuracy. Global chat, as you might imagine, can be pretty godawful at times, but as you get further away from your starting point, you'll get a bit of breathing room and a break from the constant chat messages.The Mount & Blade series, developed by TaleWorlds Entertainment, are RPG games that pride themselves on their focus of realism. It really does feel very much the same as the singleplayer version of the game, except, you know… the hundreds of other people you see everywhere. You'll join the world, create a new character, and start playing. Just make an account when prompted, confirm your email, and then login. It's extremely painless getting it to run. To try it yourself, you'll need a copy of Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord installed, and the mod's launcher which you can download here. For now, I'd still recommend trying out the single server in Russia-it fits 800 people, which still seems amazing to me, and there were about 625 players when I tried it. It looks like there are plans to add a server in Europe and one in the US, eventually. But otherwise, Bannerlord Online runs surprisingly smoothly. Most of the lag I experienced took place in menus-checking my inventory and selling items to NPC merchants is a very sluggish process.
